Sizes too big and too small (Evans)

Evans is part of the same chain as Dorothy Perkins. In fact, most of their shops are shared between the two brands. How is it then, that a pair of black, cotton office trousers in the DP side of the shop will not fit me in a size 18, yet in the Evans side of the shop are far too big in an 18?

Evans do not carry enough of the popular clothes in popular colours. For example, I can never buy black jeans in a size 18. I can buy them in 28 or 26, or in a size 18 in white or pink. But I cannot buy a standard black pair.

Many of the clothes are the same design as the ranges in DP but in latger sizes and this makes much more sense to me. If you have a wining design, why not make it in all sizes and sell it in both stores? However, this is only true for some of the ranges and not all. E.g. you can have that top in Evans, but not that blouse. The restrictions make no sense to me at all.

Also, DP and Evans are part of the same group as Top Shop and Principles but do not seem to benefit in anyway from their designs. I am not suggesting that all the shops sell the same stuff but I think they could be much more eficient.

Evans sells very functional clothing rather that interesting clothing. It sells basic office wear, leisure wear and underwear. None of its designs are ground breaking and everything is a little predictable. Evans seems to fulfill it's role in the market place with reluctance rather than enthusiasm.

I have been shopping at Evans for ages as they do have a more fashionable range for the larger figure. But I'm fed up now. I think I'll keep on dieting instead!
