I've been away from this site for too long now and dave27 finally persuaded me to come back into the fold with an opinion about one of the best women's fashion shops there is, Evans. Don't get thinking that this is just for those females who are busting out all over, this is for every one of us. A recent visit to the store proved a real inspiration and I'm here to share it with you. And one phrase sums it all up. Wow what a collection! If you haven't popped into Evans lately, you're missing one of the best collections I've seen in ages. Gone is the old fogey fashion of nasty nylons, crimplenes and slacks. Evans now seem to be concentrating on the younger generation (and of course I still consider myself in that bracket). Let's face it, most women in this country are over a size 16 anyway. I managed to pick up some black jeans, a nice camel fleece, two skirts, two trendy tops (sleevless with roll neck collars), a jumper and pack of 4 tights all for less than £115 (How much? You told me it was fifty quid - the tite fisted dave27) but this was with my 10% discount for opening an Evans Account. I opened the account while I was in there because I knew that I was going to get a lot of stuff and it was ever so quick and easy to do. I'm not a great supporter of store cards and credit cards, but the discount was too good to miss out on and I rubbed my hands with glee. The clothes are absolutely lovely, well made, good quality and excellent value for money. I thoroughly enjoyed popping in and out of the changing room trying on the clothes, something I never normally do. I told dave27 that I needed some new clothes as I was thinking of returning to work. Tee hee, he certainly fell for that one. No really, the last time we went to a school function I was supposed to walk the dogs whilst scruffy old dave27 went into church with our son, Lewis. Just as we stopped the car in order
for my husband to go into the church I noticed that he had not changed his jeans which looked like they had been caught in the office paper shredder, so it was time to change our scruffy image. I can't begin to explain how good I felt with my new clothes, the black sleeveless roll neck top, the dogtoothcheck skirt and the black shoes I bought to go with them. I could have walked off the street into any major company as I looked just like a business executive, this I felt was power dressing, well, for me anyway. It was the store in the centre of Blackpool which I visited, by the way. The staff in there were brilliant too, friendly, helpful and kind, nothing was too much trouble. They even said if I wanted to try anything else on, they would get it for me. You rarely get service any better than that, so if you're passing the Blackpool store make sure you drop in, you'll be assured of a very warm welcome and excellent service. I've been in other branches of Evans elsewhere on several occasions, but I've never been as happy with the staff attitude as I was on this visit and the staff in Blackpool were excellent, really helpful, making it to be a real pleasure to spend some time there. (Clue - I was very happy with my visit...)
