While I was searching for this category I came across the names of many other clothes shops and discovered something quite interesting. Wanna know more? Read on! Out of all the clothes stores listed, and there are quite a few, Evans has had over 26 opinions written about it (mine is the 27th!). Long Tall Sally has just 3, Principles has ... I used to avoid Evans like the plague. I thought it was for older people and would have nothing for someone my age (i'm 21). I was surprised to find that their range of clothes have seemed to changed. I got a top for my birthday last year and it is one of my favourite ones. It is purple with a v neck and it has a pattern around the v ... Read the complete review

Being a lady that is of the larger proportioned variety I have shopped in Evans on many, many occassions, and although I can only comment on the branch in Ipswich, I feel I can still comment. As little as six years ago the only decent thing you could buy from Evans was something to go camping in, but my oh my have they changed. Proper ... Read the complete review

Evans is seen as being just a shop for large ladies to buy clothes, but this is wrong! The “Seven” range which is a hip disco young range now caters for people as small as size 14. As I myself am not a skinny model type I see this as a great step forward in getting rid of the stereotypical image that Evans has required since ... Read the complete review

I have been shopping at Evans for a quite a while now and I find that it is tops when it comes to fashionable clothes for the larger lady. I used to be very thin and I would like to be that way again sometime soon but for now I am not therefore I need to buy clothes to suit. They have clothing styles to suit every age shape and ... Sometimes you go into places like Etams ans Evans and you look round the shop in amazement! For all you can see is frumpy skirts and wooly jumpers in your size. For most that you can 16+ the clothes are only suitable for the 60+ who only go to bridge night every wednesday. But in some of Etams and Evans there have been a great selection of ... Evans have come a long way in trying to update their frumpy image and it seems to be working. I stumbled into the shop when I was pregnant, frustrated by the lack of maternity wear available in my home town and looking for something that was different from the usual tent-like-tops you get in Mothercare. And boy, was I surprised. I'm ... Read the complete review

Having been a large girl since leaving school I find it so hard to find clothes that are suitable for my shape. I am size 20+ and also tall, and it really makes me so angry that 90% of the clothes available in Evans are not suitable. The trousers and skirts are never long enough, and the tops are made all very short, which is no use for ... Read the complete review

Until recently, Evans was the only place to get clothes in larger sizes, especially 22 plus. But now several other stores have at least introduced a size 16+range, and it is easier to be objective about them. Some of the Evans range, particularly Seven, East Coast and Active viii, is offering stylish and trendy clothes for younger women. ... Read the complete review

I think us larger women are supposed to be pathetically grateful that anyone makes clothes our size. Well I'm not. I'm angry that the stuff that is churned out is dull, boring, matronly, created in inferior fabrics and grossly overpriced. Evans is one of the worst culprits. Why on earth does it make most of its clothes in that disgusting ... Read the complete review

At last you can feel trendy in the new range of Evans clothes, not feel like some old frump who should be dressed in some horrible floral tent - which used to be the case previously. I love Evans basically, it has a great range of clothing size 16 and over, i find the staff very helpful and they don't look down their noses at you as if you ... Read the complete review

At last - a company who realise that just because you are a size 16+, you still want fashionable clothing, of good quality and at an affordable price. I have been shopping at Evans for 8 years now, at first in the stores, but now from their Evans Direct Catalogue, and from their website at www.evans.ltd.uk. Being something of a slob, my ... Ok generally this store is fine and being an "outsized lady" I dont have much choice than to shop here but I do feel that Evans have fallen into the same trap as many other manufacturers of larger ladies clothes with most of the styles still being very "smocky" and old fashioned! Ok I may be big but I still feel ... Read the complete review

Evans used to be the dull shop my mum bought horrible flowery tents from, but now they have introduced a new range called Seven aimed at younger people. The clothes are actually nice, very good quality and in a good selection of sizes. However, the size 16s do tend to disappear. I am a size 14/16, and so I don't buy many clothes in here ... In the overall rather grim world of size 16+ clothing, Evans is the best. The range of clothing is usually fairly wide, from smart stuff suitable for an office job to jeans and t-shirts, from evening dresses to fitness gear. Good points include the fact that they have sporty clothing and swimsuits all year round, not just when ... Read the complete review

As a larger lady (over a size 16!) I sometimes find it hard shopping for nice lingerie, the bra might be my size but the pants only go up to a size 16,very annoying and disheartening,Evans has of course come to the rescue and are bringing out new underwear all the time the best part is that the bra's match the pants in size as well as style! ... If you are, like me, a "Big Girl", this really is the place to go for great clothes. Although my nearest store is 18 miles away, this is the first place I always go to when I want to update my wardrobe. (They also do a great online and/or mail order service too!) At last the more voluptuous amongst us are treated to a varied and colourful range of clothes.
