New Look
by Grumpyyoungwoman
You have probably seen me review a few of New Looks items and so it is obvious I already like them. Here are my thoughts.
Clothes
Their clothes are amazing. Not only do they have a massive range of dresses - they seem to have every cut imaginable- all of these are at my size (16) and many of them go up to a twnety. The ... clothes are of good quality and they are very good with returns. There are some very good prices to. Yes if you are looking for a prom dress you can't find that for £20 but there are lots of basis at very reasonable prices.
The clothes also withstand washing very well too.
Label lounge
This is a group of other clothing companies that new look stock to name a couple ax paris and cameo rose. These all offer something a bit different and although they are slightly more pricey than new looks normal range they are still within the averageccustomers budget.
I own many dresses from cameo rose and they are comfy flattering and beautiful.
Shoes
I have a number of pairs of shoes from heels through to trainers and they all cope with my heavy footedness and are on trend ans affordable too. They often have amazing sales on these.
Plus size
This is not a section that I buy from but I have read some bad things about them online, as this does not effect me I will not mark them down for it but thought it may be worth mentioning.
Accessories
The assecories here are also great particularly their range of belts and hair accessories.
Instore
Although the shops are good they do not tend to offer everything and some of the employees can be quite rude. The best service I have had is my far at Liverpool One the staff are friendly and helpful but also don't go overboard.
Online
This is where they really come into their own. There are regular sales a HUGE range of products and they are all delivered within yhree to four working days and they are securely wrapped and turn up with zero creases. Delivery is free of you spend over £45 tpo meaning more excuse to shop!
Conclusion
I love New Look and I will continue to buy from them in the future. Read the complete review |

USC
by Blue
In spite of paying extra for next day Saturday delivery, so as to be sure I'd be home to receive my parcel, the doorbell never rang.
Of course there was no contact number on the website, leaving me to email my concerns and dissatisfaction.
To my surprise, I was emailed back confirming delivery WAS made and signed for by a named ... man three doors down!!
I was also told that Yodel had left a delivery card at my address with the location of my parcel -- of course not the case.
I marched straight over to the supposed house where my parcel had been left, to find not only was there no one by that name, but there was also no parcel!
I tried a number of other houses either side of mine, but no one by that name and of course, no parcel!
After communicating again via email over the course of the next two weeks, the USC lady was still insisting that delivery had been made.
3 1/2 weeks later and many after many snotty emails from me, USC replied stating that Yodel have agreed to open a non delivery case. I then had to complete and submit a form to progress my full refund, which I eventually got a month after the original delivery date.
NEVER wasting my time and effort with such a useless company again .... And if ever you see YODEL as the delivery agent -- RUN RUN A MILE!!!!!! Read the complete review |

Primark
by PrimadonaBarbie
***A bit about Primark***
I am pretty sure that everyone in the UK has heard of Primark and/or shopped in there previously. With 161 stores in the UK and 257 stores worldwide (trading as of February 2013) it is hard to miss as there is at least one in nearly every major city.
They sell a vast range of products in store ... however unlike their high street competitors they do not trade online. This is most likely due to the fact that stock is constantly changing with the seasons and sold off quickly at a cheap price. Their departments are split into men fashion, womens fashion, kids fashion and home ware and within these main departments they sell things like clothes, footwear, jewellery, bags and hair accessories.
***The Experience***
I started shopping in Primark when my friends and I were about 12 or 13. At that age I liked to be fashionable and enjoyed a bit of retail therapy but on a very limited budget which meant every Saturday when I received my pocket money me and my mates would pile into the store and spend hours trying things on and spending my weeks allowance. At that age, it was brilliant. However when I turned 16 and I started earning more money and becoming more fashion conscience I found that the clothes weren't really up to scratch and the whole ordeal had me tearing out my hair.
You practically have to battle your way through the entrance just to get only to be met by a very bored and uninterested looking security guard and find yourself fighting over a shopping basket. Some of the clothes are hung up however many of the clothes are on the wrong size hangers or have slipped off and are in a pile beneath the rails where people can't be bothered to pick them up after they knock them off rifling through the selection of garments. The rest of the clothes are folded on shelves but they don't stay like that for long people pick up the clothes to view the item and then throw it back if they don't like it or mess up the piles trying to find a certain size. This leaves the display looking awful and many items on the floor with people standing on them. Occasionally you will see a lone shop assistant trying to refold the clothes in a futile attempt to regain order, they should really save their time and put it to good use on the tills or in the changing rooms. The isles are very narrow and often results in people barging their way through or getting in the way. The whole appearance of the shop is crowded chaos.
When you do decide on what you want the queues are often long and tedious, with only half the tills being operated and people buying vast amounts of clothing you are guaranteed for a long wait. Little items are placed along the aisles so that you while you wait you resort to looking through the tubs of lip gloss in hope to cure your boredom and making a rash decision to buy crap that you really don't want or need. The till operatives are often on auto pilot and only talk to you to offer you items that are placed on the counter to entice you or to tell you how much you need to pay. Long gone are the days where you had a friendly conversation with the cashier while they were scanning through your items.
***The Changing Rooms***
The changing rooms are relatively clean but sometimes quite untidy, there maybe bits of debris on the floor or discarded hangers but this I can deal with. The changing rooms are always busy and you find yourself standing in everlasting queues just waiting to try on your items. Due to the fact they are busy there are usually a lot of changing rooms resulting in them being slightly on the smaller side however they have a decent mirror and excellent lighting which is a bonus, its just a shame that nothing could make their clothes look decent.
***The Clothes***
I find that the clothes are often made with cheap materials and don't look particularly appealing. They stretch easily in the wash and the seams come undone or the garments just fall apart. When wearing them I find they don't fit like higher end clothes do. I would buy items like tank tops, t-shirts and summer essentials just for laying in the garden etc. from Primark but as for my main wardrobe, well that's strictly Miss Selfridge or River Island.
***Overall***
I would buy the bare 'lounging' essentials from Primark however I don't really like the way they fit or the hustle and bustle of the store. They say you get what you pay for and each to their own but I personally wont be visiting my local store any time soon. Read the complete review |
