Fishergate Shopping Centre

Fishergate Shopping Centre, situated directly next door to Preston Railway Station, is as valuable as a walk-through shelter from the rain for those heading to Preston's main shopping street (named Fishergate, funnily enough) as it is a shopping centre in its own right. It's not the largest of shopping centres, by far (particularly when compared to the St. George's shopping centre situated just down the road) but it houses enough shops and outlets to supply you with everything you need. Take a walk up Fishergate, the main thoroughfare and town centre of Preston in Lancashire, and you'd be very hard pressed to identify exactly where you are unless you already knew. This could be literally any town anywhere in England and it's virtually impossible to distinguish from a million other places - it could be Hanley in the Potteries, or Manchester, or Birmingham, or Leeds. In this wonderful state-of-the-art shopping mall, you can shop for fashion or bargain hunt. There are two of Britains leading Catalogue Stores, a video games store, an electrical hardware store, gift shops, and a couple of nice restaurants to relax after a nice hard shop… All under one roof. Whenever I shop for Christmas or Birthdays, any age range, this is the first place I hunt, I can guarantee that I’ll be-able to find something suitable.
