Fopp is a high street chain that specialising in selling CD's, DVD's and books. They used to have a number of stores across the UK a few years ago but they went bust and closed all their chains. Thankfully HMV have come along and bought and resurrected a few stores including the London Cambridge Circus outlet. Where Fopp has an ... Read the complete review

Fopp used to be an independent store which specialises in selling cd's, dvd's and books, within the past 1/2 years they have been bought out by HMV after all Fopp stores had to shut due to costs, only 8 now remain open around the UK, they all still run under the name of Fopp however. Fopp is well known for the price that it sells of ... Read the complete review

My life including Fopp started in a small side street in Aberdeen, and my music-buying habits never looked back. Gone were the days of full priced CDs. I dipped into a world where the old classics such as Nirvana and Greenday were all a fiver, and chart CDs often just ten pounds. And they still are! In the past I always waited for CDs to come down ... Read the complete review

Oh, what a terrible title! But my heart's in the right place because, like a lot of other reviewers on DooYoo, I think Fopp is fantastic! It's nice to know that, in spite of the popularity of Morpheus and Napster and MP3 file sharing, CDs are still being bought in their millions. And, despite the high prices of HMV, Virgin and ... I visited Fopp for the first time about 2 weeks ago when I stumbled across the Nottingham branch. Now as I have said I have never been in Fopp before or even heard of it for that matter, so this opinion is a first timers view and only represents one purchase from the store. The shop drew my attention firstly because of it’s strange ... Read the complete review

I like buying music. I regularly browse local music stores, whether they’re large chain stores such as HMV or Virgin, to little second hand music shops – Looking for bargains. I live in the west end of Glasgow – Luckily there is a Fopp store close by, Byres Road to be precise; A stones throw from Hillhead underground station ... Read the complete review

Fopp is THE BEST music shop I have ever come across. Okay, so the new releases are probably about the same as anywhere else, maybe a couple of quid cheaper but if you're after something that's been out a while this is the place to visit. They have different sections for each price range, new releases, cds @ 7, cds @ 5 and cds @ 3. ... Read the complete review

When are the general public going to come to their senses and stop spending all their hard earned cash in multi-million pound megastores like Virgin and HMV? To be fair, they maybe do stock more variety, but much of what the youth population is seeking can be found at Fopp at a much cheaper price. People seem to get all confused by the fact that ... Over the years this shop has cost me a fortune, in terms of music and storage space! I was first introduced to Fopp when I was a student in Edinburgh and since then it has taken a large part of my income every month. Fopp is the kind of music store that you dream about. It is an independent set-up so there is no backing by the big ... Read the complete review

Imagine a cheap CD, we've all bought them in our time, spurred on by the idealistic hope that good music might be bought at a good price, but they are inevitably shoddy quality, unbearable to listen to, and by artists that perhaps your gran may have heard of (I said perhaps!) Now imagine a musical utopia, where great prices, quality, ... Read the complete review

Fopp, as I tell everyone I know, is the best music store you will ever visit. Fopp really is what a music store should be. A great atmosphere, surrounded by recordings from toe to ear, stacked high with bargain recordings. It is because of this (I think) that Fopp manage to pull off having such permanently LOW prices - they manage to pack in as ... Read the complete review

OK, so technically it's a chain store, but there's only a half-dozen or so of them. There's a location in Sheffield, one in Leamington Spa, and several in Scotland. Fopp is the best record shop in the land, though. It has a huge range of cheap CD's - for example Oasis, the latest Suede album and a whole host of Super Furry ... Read the complete review
