 Freeport, Castleford Offline Shopping Misc

Freeport, Castleford

Newest Review: ... lots of clearance stores and you can save on average 20% off the normal retail price. All the shops are outside, I think it would be better as a shopping centre as no-one likes to go shopping when it is cold or raining. There is lots of available parking and even on busy saturday afternoons you can get parked, As I said it is very easy to get to even if you're not local. Freeport is mainly full of clothes shops and shoe shops. There is a Next Clearance, a Pilot, Gap, M&S Outlet, Donnay, Nike, Clarks, Mango, The Designer Room, Petroleum and probably loads more that I cannot think of. You can usually pick up a bargain in these s... more

Premium Review Freeport, Castleford: Junction 32 ......formally known as Freeport! (472 words)

Having just been shopping to Freeport this morning I thought I would review it as it is somewhere I have been many times. It is just up the road from where I live, about 2 miles or 10 minutes in the car. It was called Freeport but has now changed its name to Junction 32 (as it is just off junction 32 of the M62). It has been there about 10 years now and is next to Xscape which has maybe been heard of a little more than Freeport. Freeport is basically a discount outlet village full of shops selling clothes at discount prices. There are lots of clearance stores and you can save on average 20% off the normal retail price. All the shops are ...  Read the complete review

Shopping, again? Honestly, I don't get much free time anymore, what with all this consumerist accumulation occurring in my household. At least you get to read about yet more places to go and spend your hard fought pennies, and I get to writer another toptastic review, full of facts, incisive wit and detached observation without hope that it will be noticed for a Crown... such is life. Perhaps there's a recession in that department too! Moan...whine... The review header is for Freeport at Castleford, but this is sadly out of date. For a couple of years now it has been operating under its new name of J32. It required thousands of hours and pounds of genius to ...  Read the complete review

Castleford freeport opened over five years ago. It is a shopping centre that has discount shops, these are both designer and high street stores. As well as this it has a burger king and a starbucks. It is not the place to go if you are after something specific however if you just fancy a browse then this is the place to head. I have picked up some fantastic bargins here - having said that it is also possible to see some real tat that should not be for sale! The stock is often a season or two old but if this doesn't bother you there will be lots of bargins to be had. One disagvantage to me is that unlike other designer outlet shopping centres ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Freeport - better places for better value. (229 words)

Overview ------------ I live around 10 miles away from this outlet and visit around 4 times a year. It has lots of clothes and homeware shops. Unfortunately there arnt many other types of shops. Just recently many of the shops have closed down due to the downturn in the economic climate. Prices -------- Claires Accessories, Marks & Sparks, next - around 20% below high street prices. Most other shops offer around 10% below high street prices, however, some offer very little or no discount at all. Choice --------- Around 50 shops but most only offer homewear or clothing. Not undercover. There is only a limited choice ...  Read the complete review

This outlet opened about a year ago, (or just longer) and everyone in the area waited with baited breath for it's opening. There was loads of ooo har about the centre, loads of jobs appeared in the local paper and in the jobcentre, and the whole hype which surrounded it's building had us believe that Freeport would regenerate the area and make Castleford into a viable shopping area for Yorkshire and further affield. You literally couldn't get near the place for the first few weeks after it's opening, especially at the weekend, so it had been open a few months before I visited. I must say I was disappointed. The centre covers a large ...  Read the complete review
