After waiting 9 weeks for delivery of a 3 seater and a 2 seater leather suite, I have just been told by the Nottingham Branch of Funiture village that these items have been "oversold". In other words, they sold more than has arrived in the container from China. The salesman says we will now have to wait another 9 weeks until the next delivery arrives. Thats a total of 18 weeks, over 4 months, over a third of a year to wait for our furniture.
Will our sofas actually be in this next shipment?
I don't really trust them anymore.
I wish I had read some of these other comments before going to the store in the first place. Next time I'll go elsewhere.

I have nothing but praise for Furniture Village in Guildford,Surrey. I ordered a leather sofa and armchair on 17 January 2009 and was quoted 12 weeks delivery. Afer only 10 weeks I was advised that my furniture was ready for delivery. On the morning of the delivery I was telephoned with a two hour delivery slot (such a good system) It arrived well within the agreed time - was unpacked and set in the position I requested. No fuss and no hassle. - I would certainly recommend Furniture Village to other prospective purchasers.

Went to look at sofas at the teesvalley FV. Sales staff didn't seem interested in selling me anything, they seemed quite indifferent. I expressed interest in a sofa and asked the price, then you find out that there is an extra charge for delivery, cushions, fabric protection etc etc. When I said it all sounded a bit expensive the sales person just walked away. When I got home I checked out the web site and found I could get an extra 10% off online from the price quoted in the shop and there was interest free credit available. None of which was offered to me in the shop. I've ordered the sofa online

1/11/08 Shortly after purchasing the ELLEN red hide dual and triple sofas from the Tees-side branch of FV marks and stains began to appear for no apparent reason. Initially, according to the FV this was due to the hide producing, 'wait for it' "Spew Marks and Fatty Liquors". After further complaint and another visit from FV it was concluded that the marks were actually as a result of the sofas not being stain guarded. When we explained that we had paid £200 for the stain guard plus insurance FV stated that the treatment was our responsibility and that we should have done it ourselves upon receipt of the furniture. When asked with what, he related to ...  Read the complete review
