Advantages: Very very fast delivery
Disadvantages: To date NONE
Decided that it was about time for a new sofa and that D?S and L**d of Leather had not got what we (myself and my wife, Nicky) wanted. On previous occasions we had been to Taunton to look for a leather sofa from the above two retailers. We decided to go to Poole, even though having a new baby (Luke) would restrict our day a little.
Being a Tuesday it was nice and quiet with only a few shoppers around, and the Christmas "FEEDING FRENZY" had subdued. Had found the sofa of our dreams on the internet, the "Scala" and thought it would be prudent to look before leaping. Finding the retail park in Poole was easy enough, and establishing that it had a McDs made my six year old sit up and behave. Inside the door to Furniture Village was the sofa I had assumed we would be buying that day. Once we got in the door I realised things would be a little more difficult, as there were a number of brown leather suites on display. The sales consultant, a Kevin Skinner, was most helpful and informative but in no way pushy or intrusive. Having a long thin hallway means finding a thin sofa and the "Maxine" was chosen in the end. The sofa was paid for and Kevin seemed to think the sofa would be with us within 10 to 14 days as it was a 3 and a 2 seat sofa we had ordered and these are normally in stock at the warehouse. This I was surprised at, as in L**d of Lea***r a lady had just been informed of a 12 week wait. As it happens the suit was bought on the Tuesday, phone call for delivery on the Thursday and delivered on the Saturday. This presented a minor problem of getting shot of the 8 year old faded suite. On line auction site, £10 buy now. It sold very quickly. Delivery of the new suite went very smoothly. "A Van Man Transport Ltd" of Poole, contracted in by Furniture Village to deliver, were very friendly and professional. Kept the bubble-wrap on the sofas whilst getting them in. This meant no scratches on the sofa. Removed all packaging and installed the wooden feet. These two very well presented gentlemen left me with nothing to do apart from sit down on the sofa.
Very Very Pleased with our purchase.
Note ****** If looking for a leather sofa use the internet to find out what it is you really want. Research Aniline, Semi Aniline, Bycast, Nubuck leathers. Bycast leather is leather, but to a similar extent as wooden furniture from most retailers is chipboard with an imitation plastic/wooden veneer.
Summary: This sofa is just what we wanted
