Advantages: ITs allright
Disadvantages: Staff, prices
Game has been round for ages. I think it used to be called Electronics boutique also. It is a store dedicated to the sales of gaming hardware, software and memorabilia.
The overall experiance of visiting a shop is pretty good. They are usually very bright and open with clearly marked sections. There are areas dedicated to playstation, nntendo and xbox. There is also a PC section , an area for small gifts and memorabilia and also a section for second hand games and bargains.
They have a pretty decent selection. They keep stocks of all the major consoles and can do some prety good deals on them. You wll find a wider selection of games on the internet but they do try and cater for everyone. There is a huge amount of second hand games but to be honest they are never good games. If someone wanted to sell it back to the store it isnt worth you buying!
The prices are good and bad. Some items are over priced but you may well pick up a good deal in there special offers! I find however that online websites like play.com always have cheaper price. I went into game with a specific purchase in mind. I went to the second hand section hoping to find it cheaper than £30 (the price on play.com). I was quite shocked to see it for £35 SECOND HAND!!! Crazy. Whilst were on that subject its normally easier to sell your games on Ebay. You will get more money aswel. Game offer silly prices knowing they will make a big profit on it!
They do have a GAME card. When you buy something you get points. These points convert into an amount of money. However it does take quite a bit to save up anything. You may need to spend £100 to get £2.50. If you pre-order something you get double points! I pre-ordered my wii and recieved double points on it. At the time I was with 3 friends also buying wii's but did not have their cards so there points were put on mine. Later that week I went back in and was told by a shocked staff member I had £50 on my card! HA!
That reminds me...the staff are useless. I dont consider myself a big gamer but I know a fair bit about what is happening in the gaming world. The staff know nothing! Don't ask them for advice as it will be advice that will benefit them. I am perhaps being a tad harsh as the odd guy or girl may know there tuff but in general they are pretty poor!
All in all buy your games from the internet. Both play.com and Amazon are great. Plus us dooyooers get Amazon vouchers!
Summary: Shop online!
