Game - The best shop in town for new releases or special editions (Game)

Advantages: They always have large stocks on new products, and good offers on console packs

Disadvantages: They can be quite expensive on everyday games and accessories

I first visited Game about 10 years ago when it was called Electronics Boutique and I always wondered why electronics and why boutique because neither of them really linked in to what the shop was about.

It's an odd shop and I have to admit that half their staff are definitely odd!

They sell a range of games for playstation, wii, pc and other consoles and have a cheaper range as well as the premium products and a vast selection of pre-oned games for many consoles - but not for the pc. They also had at one stage tried getting into the dvd market, but their prices in my view were excessive.

In addition to selling "software" they do also have very reasonable deals when games are bought with a console, and have a pretty reasonable rewards system.

Although they have a limited range in store they do also order a number of other games - like Assassins Crede where for a short time they offered a special version which included a model of the assassin, or others where you can buy special helmets to store the games.

One thing I have found about the shop, is although the staff are a little eccentric, they certainly know about a number of games - whether they've actually played them or it's forced into their sales pitch I don't know, but it certainly gives them an edge to other similar shops.

I am not convinced that they are that cheap on games, but they do have a very good choice.

In addition to the software, Game also sell accessories such as controllers and other items such as graphics cards, although they do seem a little steep in price.

For the latest games or for those special ones for a great present they do always try to keep plenty of stock, but for general games it is certainly worth shopping around. I like the store layouts and it's quite clear they are a popular store by the constant queues on a Saturday, but they wouldn't be my first choice.
