Games WorkshopNewest Review: ... experience of that. I also make ruins, houses, hills, trees, etc. However, I go to my local Games Workshop every Sunday with some friends I have made there to play a big game with all my miniatures. A lot of the time, the staff comment on how well my miniatures are painted, or how much they like my newest piece of terrain. ---QUALITY AND PRICE OF PRODUCTS--- Games Workshop sell many ... more |

---INTRODUCTION--- Games Workshop is an excellent place to meet up with new people and have a lot of fun. They are the main source of miniatures and hobby materials in the UK, and the main ranges of miniatures they sell are the following: Warhammer, Warhammer 40K, The Lord of the Rings (LotR). There are millions of Games Workshop's all over the UK and the rest of the world, and the staff in all of them are really nice and welcoming. In GW (Games Workshop) they are always organising free competitions and games, and stuff like that. In most of them, there are weekly games for every range of miniatures, so you can really get a sense ... Read the complete review

Games Workshop is a store that provides a central place for people interested in the wargaming hobbies of Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000, Lord of the Rings, or several other smaller games. There are a number of stores around the country and each one is staffed by members of staff who take part in the hobby themselves, thus ensuring that their knowledge of the games, although not faultless is at least on a par with most gamers meaning that whether you need help with sticking your models together, how to highlight that new tank, or knowing when or when not to take a cover save, they'll usually be able to give you an answer. Additionally they offer the ability to ... Read the complete review

My partner has recently rediscovered his passion for painting dwarves and the like, remembering it fondly from his youth! Now I can honestly say that I am a Games workshop virgin, have always passed the store in the town where I live on the other side of the road, casting the odd bad, sad thought against those participating! I still don't really understand why people become so involved in the whole GW culture BUT each to their own! Some people don't understand about shoes...I know its hard to believe! Anyway, I am writing my review about the stores in general rather than the products , hope thats ok! I have had the privilege and honour of visiting a number of different ... Read the complete review

As you first step through the doors of any Games Workshop Shop, you feel welcomed into the loving arms of the staff and other hobbies ts. But I warn you, don't be deceived. Although it looks so innocent now, believe me, before you know it.... you can have squandered your money away within a few purchases. Any figurers that you buy will be hideously expensive often £8-10 for a single metal model. And any sort of vehicles, can be anywhere from £30-45. Before you know it, you'll soon need a mortgage to pay your debts off. Being aimed at small children who want to start a hobby and be creative...It is incredibly harsh on the parents. A single 'army' of ... Read the complete review

Games Workshop is an institution (in both the sane and insane sense of the word) for many British boys. Founded by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone (the writers of those popular Fighting Fantasy/Choose your own adventure books in the Eighties/early Nineties), it now is owned by its shareholders and has existed for around 20 years. Most major cities have a store where enthusiasts can play and paint miniatures, and GW stores are often the only shops left open in city centres late at night or on a Sunday. The yearly Games Day attracts thousands of fans to Birmingham to play on lavishly constructed tabletops with beautiful miniatures. GW headquarters in Nottingham has its ... Read the complete review
