Advantages: Trade ins, preowned games are cheap, quite good customer service
Disadvantages: Quite small stores, not the best selection of games.
Gamestation is a video game store that sells both new and old games and a few other items. They sell games for all the major consoles and also sell retro stuff like GameCube and Play station 1 games.
Their prices for new games are not very good and are roughly the RRP but the preowned games are good and are quite cheap. They do not sell as many games as Game as the stores tend to be smaller and the selection is not as good.
You can trade in games here and they guarantee to beat any other price by a £1 which is very good and means they are the best place to trade games in. You get more if you trade in for credit but you can trade in for good old fashioned cash.
The customer service varies from being very good to quite bad and I think this just depends on which store you go in and the member of staff who serves you. Normally the staff are very helpful and when I have asked them questions have responded well and knew what they were talking about. This is good to know as this means the staff know what they are doing.
My local store is quite small and mostly sells preowned games but for some strange reason they also sell IPods. I think it would be better to get rid of the Ipod section because I have never seen any one look at them and let alone buy one and they are taking up lots of room.
The shelves are quite muddled because of people rummaging around for great deals and so you have to look around and you will find some brilliant buys. Like they sell 4 preowned Playstation 2 games for £10!
Overall I think the store is a good games store and is worth looking in as there are some great bargains to be had. They should get rid of the stupid Ipod section as this a waste of space. They are definitely best for their preowned games and are the best shop to do trade ins.
Summary: Worth looking in for preowned games

- 14/02/09 I find GS usually that bit cheaper than GAME however the retro selection has disappeared...I'm off the ebay. |
