Advantages: the prices, you can trade in
Disadvantages: you may not like pre owned games
Gamestation is a popular high street store which I find myself in quite alot with my younger brother who is fifteen. It is probably becoming alot more popular over the months, especially at the moment due to the low prices and the fact you can trade games in when finished.
It is a store which specialises in New and Pre Owned game consoles such as Xbox, Playstations and handheld ones such as Nintendo Ds, their games and accessories including bags etc.
You can trade in your old games to buy others which are available in store, but you do need I.D which is why I tend to go in their with my brother to do his trades for him. You also need I.D usually to buy a game which is 18 or over (only if you look under 18 of course). This I think is good as of course not all parents want their 13/14 and 15year olds playing on certain games which are marked as 18 for a reason. My mum and dad however do not mind my brother playing on them but I go in there to provide I.D for these games.
The prices of the games are brilliant in my opinion, especially for a secondhand game. They do check the game dics thoroughly when you do a trade so you can be happy that any second hand game you purchase is in good condition and playable. I know this as my brother has done a few trades, and if they have noticed a scratch, or even if the case is no longer useful they will not let you trade it in.
I'm sure all their stores are pretty similar with the layout but I find in the store I go in everything is in order and you can easily specify which games are brand new and which are secondhand as it clearly states up above the shelves and on the games themselves.
I definitely reccomend this store if you are not prepared to pay full price for a game as of course we all probably know they can be a bit pricey. It is also a brilliant store for people who find they get through games and their levels quite quickly and want to trade them in for a different one, rather than being stuck with a game you have finished with and have no use for and havin to fork out for a brand new one.
Summary: great prices, you can trade in games you have finished with
