Advantages: Lasts ages, nice designs
Disadvantages: overpriced on some items
Of all the high street shops that sell kids clothes I must say that GAP is my favourite. Working in Londons west end I am lucky enough to have 3 GAP kids stores in walking distance from my work place so its convenient for a spot of lunchtime shopping.
The store I most frequent is the regent street store which I think is really well laid out and normally has a good selection of newer items and are well stocked in different sizes the staff are friendly and helpful.
The reason I like GAP kids clothes is that they last for ages and wash so well, the colours do not fade and the sizing is good for my daughter and the clothes always fit well.
A favourite of mine is their playwear range of tops, t-shirts and leggings that are normally on offer 2 for £16 they come in a range of colours and designs and last and last now £16 I think is a bargain for two tops I know it may be more than you would pay in Primark or Next but they last for ages. I put them on my daughter day in day out and she is a proper mucky one and they are washed and worn to death but they always last until she grows out of them which are normally about 6 months.
I wouldn't pay out for their socks or PJ's. I simply cannot justify paying that much out on socks especially because I have a sock monster in my house who seems to have a taste for my daughters socks and I have drawers full of odd ones and as far as I am concerned PJ's are for bed never seen so I don't care if they get a bit tatty.
The other good thing about GAP is they normally email round a 30% off voucher every few months so great for bargains!
So all in all I would say good for nice play wear and lovely occasion wear but for other things a bit over priced.
Summary: Would recommend for play wear and special occasions

- 15/09/09 I like the Gap childrens clothes too, my two year old granddaughter has lots of their items and as you say they last far longer than cheaper clothes. |
