Advantages: The latest styles, Wide range of clothing, Gets your baby noticed!

Disadvantages: Strange sizes, Small head-holes on jumpers, A tad expensive

As a teenager, everytime I was in town, I used to drag my friends into Gap to look at the newborn baby socks- they were so tiny and cute! Little did I know that a few years later(and still as a teenager!) I would be buying these socks for my own baby. When Baby Gap opened I was the first in to see what delights it offered.

My baby has quite a few clothes from Baby Gap (he's quite the designer baby). When he was born my friend arrived at the hospital with two boxes full of Baby Gap clothes. He's got a range of things from vests to jeans to those cute little socks, and of course the customary Gap hooded sweater.

In general I find the clothes to be of good quality. However sometimes there can be loose threads on items like jumpers. One of the main quibbles I have is that the jumpers don't have big enough head-holes! My eight month old son is around 22lbs, quite heavy for his age, but his head isn't that big! Just this morning I was putting a nice fleecy jumper from Baby Gap on him and the poor wee mite was crying as I nearly got his head stuck!

Another thing is the strange way in which the poppers fasten up on one of the Baby Gap babygros- at the crotch area there is usually a gaping hole!

The sizing in Baby Gap is also very strange. They offer 'newborn' clothes which say 17lbs on the label. Goodness help a mother who gives birth to a baby that size. Consequently, most babies will be able to wear 'newborn' clothes until they are a year or so! The prices are also quite high, especially for the well-known Baby Gap jumpers. I suppose this is somewhat a designer shop and you get what you pay for though.

Baby Gap offer a range of good quality clothing, in the latest styles which echo those of the adult 'parent' Gap. The shops always look attractive and boast friendly and helpful staff (well most of the time). My local one is not very easy to negotiate with a pram though! Ap
art from the problem with the head-holes, I would recommend Baby Gap if you can afford to shop there- if not, when someone asks you if you need anything for the baby, say 'Well, some Baby Gap gift vouchers would be nice'!

I love Babygap, unfortunately my baby has now grown out of the teeny newborn socks!

I agree Baby Gap sell lovely clothes but some items i find to be over priced but others very reasonable. A basic cotton t.shirt is £8.00 in here when you can get a much nicer one else where for less money. But shirts and hats and things like that are not too bad at all. My baby has the cutese little yellow and white gingham shirt form baby Gap and it was only £4.99 in the sale. I hope your baby is ok after getting his head stuck, poor little thing. Good opinion.

17lb newborn babies? It brings tears to the eyes just thinking about it! I have to agree about the cuteness of baby socks though. :-)
