Disadvantages: overpriced tat

As a married student with a young son you would probably assume that I'd be well aquainted with the old oxfam or british Heart Foundation; you would be correct!! In all honesty in this day and age, there don't seem to be that many bargains to be had, particulary regarding British Heart Foundation furniture shops. Have they missed the point? some of the stuff could be sold on Ebay or a car boot sale for a fraction of the price and that is where I would recommend any potential bargain hunter or hard up individual to go.

Summary: On there way out?

I agree that charity shops are over pricing their goods these days. Considering all their helpers are volunteers, their premises are free and goods are donated, I am sure if they reduced their prices they would get more customers.

We always give our unwanted clothes to The British Heart foundation or Cancer research. My mum works for a Cancer research shop on a voluntary basis, I do feel that they are over priced these days. With shops like Primark and Matalan in most towns now its often cheaper to buy new.
