Advantages: Stuff in them is so cheap, when you buy you're helping out a charity.

Disadvantages: Some bits they sell aren't so nice.

I have noticed that in the last year there are a lot more charity shops opening well in my old hometown there is like scope, Sue Ryder, RSPCA etc. Charity shops are great as they raise money for different charities and the money they get can help fund these charities to help the ill or buy new equipment for them. I think a lot more people are actually going in there to look around, a lot of youngsters do get put of by looking in them as they think it will ruin there image or don't no what there friends will say. Charity shops sell mainly donated clothes that are donated by normal people like you and me some are even designer things. It doesn't mean there junk they can be donated because you have grown out of them or you decided they didn't suit you.

Charity shops don't just sell clothes they sell, shoes, books, brik a brac, ornaments there loads of interesting things in. Charity shops don't just sell used things they sometimes sell new things the one I went to in Devon sold guitars as well to as this helped with the funding of the place. Not everyone that works there is paid quite a lot are just volunteers. I don't think we actually realise how much effort goes into running charity shops.

I no someone that is a manger in one and when I asked her about what they have to they have to sort through bags and bags of stuff people have donated they split them in piles: stuff to put in the shop, rubbish which is things that no one would want and the other pile is for the third world countries. They actually have to pay for someone to collect the bags that are going to third world countries think it's a pound a bag or something. Then they have to iron the clothes they are selling and price it all up and display it in the shop then at the end of the day do the accounts.

Many different kinds of people go in charity shops, the clothes are obviously a lot cheaper then shops so people that haven't got so much money can go in them, I no people that go in them to look at the ornaments to see if they can find an antique or any that would be worth some money, my mum often goes in them to get book as they sell for so cheap then once she's read them donates them back., or just someone who wants to get a bargain goes in them.

Summary: Overall I think charity shops are worth looking in as you never no what you will find.
