Advantages: Cheap quality clothes, good range

Disadvantages: Messy in the sales!

My first experience of an H&M store was in West Quay in Southampton and it nearly put me off for life! I must admit it was sale season so it probably wasn't the best time to judge them but what a mess! There were clothes everywhere in no order, all over the floor and chucked on rails! I didn't have a hope in hell of finding anything so I gave up and left empty handed.

A couple of years on from my nightmare experience an H&M opened up in my local town so I decided to give them a second chance! What a difference! There was no sale on so I guess an honest comparison cannot be made but it was a very pleasant shopping experience!

The store sells a good range of womens, mens and childrens wear complete with accesories. The shop was bright and airy and everything was well laid out and easy to browse through. The changing rooms were roomy with proper doors rather than those awful curtains you get in some stores that always leave a gap for you to unknowingly poke your backside through!

You do still need to have a good rumage as there tend to be various styles and colours of tops onthe same rail but this adds to the shopping experience as you're not quite sure what you are going to find!

The range of clothes is good, everything from jeans and jumpers to going out clothes and work wear. There is also a sectioned aimed at the younger generation which seems to sell brightly coloured clothes and hoodies.

Now, down to the most important aspect of any clothes store, price! The clothes in H&M are very reasonably priced and you can get some realy bargains even without a sale on. Ther eis a large selection of jumpers for around the £15 mark and jackets for about £20. You could buy a whole outfit here and still have change from £50!

Overall I would recommend a visit to H&M to anyone looking for a bargain. I have bought a few items of clothing from here and have had no problems with the quality of them. Just be prepared for a bit of a handbag fight and rummage during the sales though!

Summary: A highly recommended clothes shop

I really like H & M's menswear. It is pretty cheap but more importantly it lasts. I got an organic cotton T shirt in here for £8 - it washes up beautifully! The stuff from some of the other cheapie high street places (e.g. Top Man) just drops to bits and you can feel how cheap and nasty it is.
