Advantages: Some nice clothes, nice staff
Disadvantages: too much emo
My local branch of HnM is in Leeds, there are 2 in fact and both are quite different.
The one on the high street is what I can only describe as emo and muddled. The clothes are set out in a strange way, with nothing matching being near each other. They also seem to have a huge amount of stock of 'emo' style clothes that I have no interest in wearing. There are 2 floors, one is in a basement, and they sell womens, mens and kids clothing.
The other branch off albion street is loads better. Everything is more spread out, theres loads more space and it feels a lot less crowded both with clothes and people.
The clothes here are also more my taste. I got a great black cocktail dress for £20 from here, they had a good range of sizes, and there was no queue for the changing room which was great.
There are 3 floors, 1 each for men, women and kids.
The staff in the albion street store are also very friendly and helpful, much more so than the high street branch. This could be because they have less customers and so are less stressed.
HnM is a strange brand that tries to cater to everyone. It leaves the shops muddled and is annoying to sort through to find things you like. I definately prefer new look as this has less choice but more of what I like!
Summary: Its ok

- 22/05/09 I don't understand why you can't buy from H&M online in the UK but you can in other countries. |

- 19/05/09 They are great for tall skinny 11 year olds! Not so great for short dumpy 38 year olds in my experience!! |
