Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: lacks consistency

H and M is a shop which I find fails to be consistent in the market its targeting and the type of clothes it offers. I used to trust H and M only for the basics: the jumper in every colour, the place to go for a cheap white t-shirt. It then moved into basics with a mix of fashion, taking into account current trends, so I gradually started to pay more attention. There are times when this shop takes it above and beyond however, and I call these my 'h and m phases' where I can literally be obssessed with it as the clothes are dirt cheap!

The layout of the shops of course vary, but mostly the clothes are well organised, if you do have to root around a bit. The clothes are all on rails which I much prefer to piles of clothing, but the shoes are dotted around the shop which is a bit annoying: it would be better if they were all together.

They have a plus size range, and a seperate kids store, which is very useful for those in these two categories. All in all, the clothes found in this shop are good value for money as they last, but you have to be lucky to find the gems and the clothing lacks consistency in terms of style.

The jewellery department is also lacking, but they do often have good hair accessories.
