Advantages: Lots of branches
Disadvantages: terrible management
I visited the Woking branch of H Samuel recently and was utterly disgusted.
The so called staff , were hopeless, uninterested and clearly to busy clock watching to do there job properly.
I waited ages to get the attention of a member of staff as they were to busy leaning against the till having a chat, when i approached them for assistance their attitudes made it very clear they would rather be talking than serving customers and couldnt wait to get me out of the door so they could return to their chatting. I was amazed to see that the unhelpfull women serving me was the assistant manager.
I returned to the store a few weeks later to purchase a charm bracelet, this time i had the misfortune of being served by the supervisor. Upon paying for the item she mumbled 'do you want them fitted', when i said i did she grapped my purchase from the till and started to walk off the shop floor, i called her back and asked if she wanted to know what order i wanted the charms fitted on she replied 'i was just going to bung them on any way'. I told her not to bother took my braclet to the empsom branch the following week and was served by the supervisor there was extremly helpful and apologised on behalf of the woking branch.
It seems disappointing that the great customer service i received in epsom by their supervisor was only truely appreciated after the disgusting display from the managment in the Woking branch.
Summary: Big improvemnets need to be made to the Woking branch customer service before i will return there!

- 08/05/06 It's sad to hear that you had a bad experience. As a retail manager myself (no, not at H.Samuel), I frequently get complaints from customers about other stores, and sometimes I am very shocked that so many seemingly unprofessional and unhelpful people work for the same company as me! It is horrible for customers, and also for those who DO actually give a damn about helping people - not to mention the obvious effect on profit. |
