Halfords originally started in Leicester by two brothers, at the time it wasn't called Halfords, but it was on Halford street in Leicester and no body could remember it's name, so they just called it Halfords, the name then stuck. That is why Halfords is now on of the biggest car parts and cycle super store chain.

I decided to go to Halford to get a free bike safety check when it was offered, they just tighted my gear shift up as it was loose and that's about it, but it was free so I didn't mind.

I didn't buy my bike from Halfords, but riding it one day I broke the link in the chain, so I had a spare and prepared it my self.

A while later my chain totally snapped so I had to then go to Halfords, being down hill to the shop I glided there on my bike.

I got there and took my bike to the cycle bit up the stairs, bit of a pain tho, and asked for a chain, he asked me what size and gave me one, but said I can't fit it today.

Halford do say tho, that they'll fit things for you, free.

There was no point in me leaving it all there, to walk home and walk back, so I said, leave it, I'll fit it my self.

Then having to walk it back to put the chain on, being a pain to get the link in, I used my old link which actually went in, unlike the one supplied with the chain.

So I think Halfords are good, but at time they just can't be bothered
