I recently visited my local Halfords in Bury St Edmunds which i use on a regular basis to try and find a Wiring Adaptor for my new car stereo.

On this particular occasion that i vsited i was particularly impressed with the service received. The infomation I was giving the Sales Assistant wasn't adding up and he quite happily left what he was doing and looked at the car for himself. He then returned to the car with the needed adaptor and fitted it. Once fitted the radio didn't work and he also fixed a wiring fault in the car. All this for no extra charge and in under 20 minutes.

The store is very clean and bright and the staff generally tend to be very helpful with only the odd exception here and there. I am usually shopping for car parts or car cleaning products, I did pick up a really cheap tent here once and it lasted years. Being the start of the summer they had deals on them again last time i visited.

Halfords also stock quite a large range of pushbikes, roadbikes, mountain bikes. BMX's etc, and also a comprehensive range of spares.
Tools are another item you will find at Halfords with most Tools you could want on a day to day basis.

I find that whatever you're shopping for whether it be car batteries or pushbikes Halfords tend to have a good stock range with most items listed in the car parts catalogues being in stock.

I cannot remember off hand what time they open however Monday-Friday they are open until 8pm, Saturday until 6pm and also open Sundays which is handy as most other garages and car spares shops seem to be closed in our area.

Free parking is available directly outside of the store but this can get very crowded at times.

Overall a very good store with good stock ranges and levels, often with very good special offers. Don't expect to find stuff the cheapest here unless it is on offer altough some products are cheaper than local competitors.
