After reading a review on this site a few days ago it rminded me how much I love going to Hamleys so when I was in London the other day I decided to find time to visit what is probably the best toy shop in London.

It is located on Regent Street with the nearest tube station being Oxford Circus although it is not much of a walk from either Bond Street or Picadilly Circus depending on which line of the underground you are travelling on.

The whole shop is spread over seven floors and there is so much going on it is a hive of activity and you can easily lose yourself for an hour or so in this store. All the toys are laid out with plenty of hands on opportunities to touch and play with items and there are lots of demonstraters on the shop floor who attract crowds of kids and parents alike to their demonstrations of the latest toys.

Being a bit of big kid still I love the soft toy section which is on the ground floor, some of these stuffed toys will take your breath away twice, once when you see them and again when you see the price tags.

I also like to check out the fourth floor as it has all of the hobby stuff, I love the modelling kits even though I never had the patience to make things when I was young.

The great thing about Hamleys is the fact that everything is under one roof and so you can always find something to buy as presents, my young niece has benefited from my visit and the store is one of those magical places to visit especially at xmas if you can cope with the crowds.
