      Once you've paid your money the friendly customer service goes down the toilet. The sales staff and store managers are on commission (so forget any kind of partial refund) and blame the customer for any after sales query by charging an extra 20%. They then have the audacity of offering you a discount on the 20% penalty to make it look like they're doing you a favour! Cancel the order and lose 50% of what you originally spent and end up with nothing and out of pocket.Never again will I buy from Harvey's. Beware. Run a mile. Shop elsewhere.Harvey's, without customers there is no Harvey's - treat people like people, not morons.Customer Service means exactly that.

      I would strongly disagree that Harveys are rubbish and have poor customer service. I bought a 3 and 1 seater sofa for £1400 from the Speke branch of Harveys in November 2009 and the customer service was fantastic; Wayne in particular. Delivery was quick and at a time best for me. I have no complaints whatsoever. Staff really friendly, professional and approachable. Nothing too much trouble for them. I dont know what happened for everyone else, but i would definately give them my custom again and recommend them to friends!! Miles better than DFS, SCS and Land of Leather etc, they just mither the life out of you as soon as you walk through the door! At Harveys i was greeted, left alone to look around, given really good advice about what i wanted and got a cup of coffee! Dont know why everyone is complaining!!! They are great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      I thought Harvey's were meant to be a proper furniture store but they don't seem to know what to do when customers have any sort of issue. Basically have paid over a £1000 already they now want more money for an upholster to dismantle and put back together the sofa's because my corridor ceiling is too low. I'm not prepared to pay this as I made this perfectly clear and was told I wouldn't have to pay extra. I'm now trying to get my money back except I'm told by one person I'll get charged a 20% cancellation fee, then I'm told a refund is not an option. Does anyone have any advice??????

      Harveys are terrible do not buy from them. Ordered a Bedroom furniture set from the store at Derby Kingways. Items were delivered after 9 weeks after we had been told 6 weeks. On unpacking we found the chest of drawers to be faulty (drawer don't open and close as they are too big for the unit). On trying to get delivery of the replacement my boyfriend saw the delivery driver drive off from the other end of the road when I can the delivery line they said the delivery driver had left knocked the door and left a note. I explained he must have been at the wrong house the response was "how many number 15's are there on your road" and "how do you know he wasn't left at delivery note at your address you are at work" how rude !

      PLEASE READ THIS AND BE AWARE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE TO RECIEVE THIS POOR SERVICE
      Harveys - Order and Pay now recieve your goods whenever. We ordered a Amelia Stool from Nottingham store and paid delivery charge in May and told delivery would be 8 > 10 weeks it is now 25 weeks later and no one can tell us when we will recieve it, and the Managers view is its only £150 worth so why all the fuss. I enquired about purchasing on line today and they told me the product was on a 9 week lead time so there appears to be no problem.
      I have been chasing the store since 8 weeks after buying the stool i must have spoken to everyone in the store and with attitude the manager as had from my first call i should have guessed i was going to have problems. I wouldn't mind if someone had the decency to call you back but they can't even do that. I used to think their products were good and have spent a lot of money there over the years but never again.

      Never shop at Harveys.Ordered 2 items in July. One on 3-4 week delivery that we're still waiting for - lied to by the shop assistant. The other on 6-8 weeks turned up 4 weeks early. Total guesstimate in leadtimes! Customer Services wholly unresponsive. Store management devoid of any interest in resolving issues. Appalling.

      Don't shop at Harvey's. The delivery date given is a guestimate. The attitude of the staff (after sale) is diabolical. Customer Services need training in Customer Services. Items cost the earth but are of poor quality. My advice is to buy cheaply off the net, then at least if the items are damaged or faulty at least you have paid through the nose.

      Really unhappy with them consideriing we spent over £1000

      Not happy with the service from Harveys at all really. Purchased a 3 seater and 2 seater sofa, along with a glass dining table and chairs. Problems with the delivery, due to them wanting to send us just the dining chairs and nothing else initially, but finally got them to send it all in one lump. All came one Saturday morning, where two delivery guys happily 'set up' (for want of a better terminology!) the two sofas, but wouldn't assemble the table. I did this myself, only to find that the table had a number of scratches on it's surface. I called the store, who told me to contact customer service, but they'd put me through....of no help at all, as they were closed. After sending them an e-mail, I waited a further few days but received no reply, so I called them. They didn't have the info from the e-mail as it takes '3-4 days to be processed through the system'. Eventually, I managed to speak to someone to arrange a replacement. A week or so later, I had to call them again to chase, but they now told me that the table was discontinued, so I asked for a further discount, which initially they were not happy about, but finally (after more calls) relented and gave us some money back. However, the sofas are now also faulty - the cushions look like they've been sat on for the last 5 years and we've only had the suite for 4 weeks. An 'engineer' from Homeserve came to look, told me that the suite was faulty and said that replacement cushions would be with us in a week. We then called them to chase and were told that Harveys wouldn't sanction replacement cushions as it was 'customer liability'. In visiting the store, I was told that the look of the suite was 'shabby chique' and they're all meant to look like it - wish they'd have told us before we bought it. Complaint is still pending with Harveys, but I don't hold out much hope, so it looks like it's all going to be taken away.........

      Personal opinion -- great at selling the suites and other furniture, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Customer service? UTTER RUBBISH!! Called them yesterday to find out the status of my complaint and without hesitation, I was put through to Homeserve once again. I honestly despair with their idea of keeping customers happy.....!

      HARVEYS furniture store are the WORST!!!!

      Harveys are the worst furniture company I have ever dealt with. Ordered two leather chairs and a footstool that arrived March 2008. Mould appeared on all three items within a few months. Following an unsuccessful attempt by them to repair the items and a further inspection they eventually agreed in Nov 2008 to replace. I am still waiting!!! Their customer (lack of) service is non existent. I have to hold on the phone for usually at least 15minutes before getting through to a person. These customer service people have not been trained in customer services and are always very abrupt and will try to pass you through to another department. Another wait of 15 minutes!! I have asked for somebody to give me a call back - no response. I have emailed - no response.
      Surely it is time for the BBC to feature this company on Watchdog!!
      Don't buy from Harveys - you are very likely to regret.

      I paid a £50 delivery charge for a sofa, which has not been delivered. They said 14 days, then they said 10 weeks. I have now been waiting 5 months and it has still not been delivered. My emails are ignored and the customer service staff on the phone are very rude and unhelpful. After reading reviews online i have realised hundreds of people have been having problems with this company. If not delivery then the poor quality of the goods. Some action needs to be taken against harveys furniture store. Coronation street needs to be informed, they are advertising a company offering terrible customer service and cannot deliver the goods. When (or if) i do recieved my sofa i am expecting it to be poor quality as many other people have found there sofas to be.Would not recomend harverys furniture store to anyone.

      Do not go to Harveys

      My experiance of Harveys has been terrible it started on 24.2.2009 and has just ended on 8.10.2009 my first dinning suite was damaged, entertainment unit delivered a month after rest. in middle of July, got new table different coloured legs to top told them we did not want to try again, was offered replacement suite the manager at Drakehouse Sheffield was off hand and rude, not one word of sorry was said throughout all this hassle.Rob who ended up sorting out new furniture was very helpful but manager told him to charge us £35 delivery after us getting annoyed he told Rob not to charge it. I have got to say this has been the worst time I have had buying furniture and as I have told everybody I know I would sit on the floor rather than walk through the door of Harveys Drakehouse Sheffield this has been horrible.

      Bought a 2/3seater from Harveys, ordered September 06 Promise of a delivery before Christmas,Never arrived.After a lot of hassel we took them to court they srttled out of court on the day. We finally got the suite 07! we've had the suite 7 months.the colour is coming off the leather, the recliner rubs against the suite when it goes up.reported to Harveys an inspectot examined suite, agreed the seat set too high. The report went in, we recieved a letter saying it is wear and tear and would do nothing about it.They now say if we don't agree we could get a second oppinion from an approved FIRA Upholster.I have always dealt with Land of Leather and recieved agod service,We sould have done so again.We are a couple, not obese,no children,pets.and they have a cheek to say it is wear and tear. HARVEYS are rubbish !!

      In short, I wish I had seen this and many other websites regarding Harvey's sooner! I have had the worse customer service EVER to the extent that the Branch Manager refused to talk to me and the Complaints dept used rather appaling words in their letters! At present, Im trying to get a Snr managers comment on the way I have been treated!To conclude, I would stay well away from Harveys! Its ironic they sponsor a Soap Opera!!

      AXOID HARVEY'S THEY ARE CRAP

      Bought a table and chairs from Harvey's it ONLY took them 5 months to deliver my chairs they told me 10 weeks gave up and got my money back for the table as it was still at the manufacturer delivery time unknown. I constantly phoned them they never rang back. They even charged me £30 delivery. I will never ever buy anything from them again and I advise you to avoid at all costs. AWFUL

      Don't be put off by their attitude, insist on your rights.

      Moving to a new house we bought a bed from Harveys and stated the delivery time and date that would be acceptable, giving them four weeks' notice.

      Come moving day, the bed arrived and as the delivery driver was about to walk over the newly fitted carpets with his filthy shoes (the house was new, on a building site, need I say more), I politely requested that he either remove his shoes or wait until I could rearrange the dustsheets. All I got was a mouthful of abuse, saying he was in a hurry!

      Eventually he took the bed upstairs and promptly left. When I went to check it I realised they had sent two parts of the base which did not lock together. So that night we had to sleep on the mattress on the floor until I could get through to Harveys to tell them what had happened.

      Their customer service was appalling! They told us we had to wait another 4 - 6 weeks for a new base to be delivered. "Er... but there must be two other parts of a base that are mismatched elsewhere, can't you just swap them over?" No that was too simple, they just couldn't understand that if we had got two bottom halves of a base, then another customer must have got two top halves! In the end, after numerous phone calls and visits to the shop we insisted they give us one of the bases from a bed displayed in the showroom. You would have thought we had asked them for gold, the amount of fuss they created. But we did get the base delivered the next day, and then five weeks later a new one arrived. Although they did try and charge us for delivery again!!!

      I would certainly think twice about shopping at Harveys for anything else, but it was a newly opened store and within easy distance of home so we thought we would give them a try. I now wish we had gone elsewhere (as we did when we wanted a bed for the guest room, but that is another story!)
