Harveys

We ordered and paid for wardrobes from Harveys on 8th August this year. We are still waiting for them to be delivered 3 months on. I have rang them at least once a week since the original target delivery date of 6-8 weeks from order delivery passed. I have been fobbed off with promises of an expected delivery within the week and Harveys have never met this promise. I feel thoroughly let down. In addition to this, I'm having to do all of the chasing, Harveys have only rung me once and that was a very nice sounding chap who just wanted to crack jokes - I wasn't in a joking mood. I have been reading a lot of bad reviews about Harvey's on here and various other websites. I am writing to even things out a bit as I have not had a problem with Harvey's, neither has my father in law in over a year of being with them. My father in law last year bought a 3 and 2 seater reclining leather sofa from Harvey's for £800, he got told the delivery could take up to 10 weeks but he got his delivered in under a week so he was very happy. When my girlfriend and I saw his sofas we loved them. They were very comfortable and looked sturdy and well made and for some reclining sofas they were affordable. I have recently bought a bedroom set (wardrobe, chest of drawers and 2 x bedside cabinets). The sales staff were very freindly but messed up my order. The manager did not know how to rectify this as she was new so another 'minion' had to put the wheel back on. Several weeks later the furniture came. As the room wasn't ready i left the furniture in it's boxes for about 2 weeks. When i came to take it out i found that a cabinet had a dent in it. I called customer 'services' and spoke to a male who stated it would be replaced as i had not spotted it within 3 days of delivery! He was not interested at all and had a terrible attitude. Do NOT buy anythig from Harveys or Bensons for beds. Both are part of Homesytle Operations Ltd and both companies do exactly the same. They lead you on and make promises of delivery dates and then constantly change the dates. Even worse, to stop you cancelling an order they lie and make up a delivery date closer to what you want and then they call you a few days before giving the original delayed date. These companies obviously cannot cope with the demand of the goods they are selling. Both companies have poor customer service and only care about making the sales and taking your money. DO NOT USE HARVEYS!!! I wouldn't even recommend this company to my worst enemy. I cannot stress how bad harveys are!! I was very pleased with the service I received at the Lakeside store on 06.04.09 so I ordered a 3 seater sofa and chair. I paid in full and waited a while for these items (which wasn't a problem) and was excited to receive a call to arrange delivery for 13.06.09. I even received a text the day prior to confirm delivery between 8-11AM, which I thought was fantastic organisation.
