Advantages: Reasonably pricrd furniture

Disadvantages: You are fed a continuous line of pure drivel when trying to find what you have paid for

Visted the harveys store at Westwood Thanet on 27th December 2005 and found a three seater setee which we duly paid for and was told that delivery would be on the 12th January, this was great as I intended to re decorate and have everything finished by then. The 12th came and I duly took a day off work to await delivery. About eleven the phone rang to tell me that due to the delivery lorry breaking down my setee would not be arriving as planned that day but that it would come on the Saturday,ok I thought,thats understandable and it's only two days away. Saturday came and went and still no sign. my wife phoned Harveys and was told that the manager was unavailable but he would phone back...NOTHING.. Wife rang again on the Sunday morning and was told that the manager was tied up and would phone back directly. The person that phoned was not actually the manager and said that there had been a delay due to the problems in Russia, thinking that for all I knew he could be reffering to the overthrow of the Tsarist government by the Bolshevics in 1917 I asked him to elaborate,
"It's the gas in Russia" he said " Theres a shortage of gas" by this point I had compltely lost the thread and asked when my setee would in fact be delivered, "don't worry" he said "It will defenitely be with you on the 24th of January"
I was not overjoyed as you can imagine but at least I had a date to work with. An hour later the real manager phoned and told us that he could now put our minds at rest and that our setee would be delivered in..we stopped him there and said that one of his employees had already phoned and given us a date this being the 24th of January..there was an audible silence followed by a sucking of teeth..."Oh no " he told me "We can't possibly do it then as all the slots for that date are filled" I started to turn a shade of red and pointed out that we had been told that this was a firm date only an hour ago "AH yes" he said "But we forgot to enter it on the computer and now that slot has been taken,and it's a case of first come first served" I was now becoming apoplectic and in one of my more coherent phases asked when it would be delivered," Fifth of febuary" he replied , so you are telling me I said that you will deliver on the 5th? Another silence,
"Not actually the fifth but sometime after the week begining the fifth" And so the saga of my setee continues,my next step is head office and the complaints department, I am not holding my breath for a swift conclusion to this and will not shop at Harveys again.

Harveys are clowns, I have almost (finally) sorted out my 2 settees, after 3 botched repair attempts for an item delivered faulty and a complete replacement. This has taken 27 months. I'm still awaiting compensation which has been agreed.

We have had problems with Harveys, the company is useless and as for customer service their is none and headoffice they were no use. Dont let them win though as for compensation for late delivery we did and got it, but they did take it back when we got a refund for the faulty and not fit for purpose suite they sold us. good luck.
