Quick Overview of my saga with Harveys:

Goods arrived on time but were wrong. Delivery men did not unpack as promised otherwise I wouldn't have accepted them.

Promised to replace within a month.

Called a month later and they denied this.

Asked for my money back while the goods were re-ordered. Store manager told me to call customer services.

Customer services said a senior manager would get back to me. This didn't happen despite 3 calls / letters from me.

Wrote to MD as advised by customer services. Customer services replied on his behalf offering me £50 to keep the wrong goods which I had already rejected.

In the meantime, I had asked AMEX to help resolve the issue. AMEX rang the store who claimed my replacements were ready, but these were in fact the showroom examples.

Various letters, and then, 4 months after the delivery, received a **** *** letter from customer services saying the goods were the ones I ordered.

1 month later, don't know why or how, they suddenly changed their position and agreed to take the goods back and refund me.

The upshot:

They delivered the wrong goods, but kept the money for 5 months.
They offered no compensation for the delay.
Approx 12 letters / calls to the company to get my money back.

I had to pay interest on the credit card, store the unopened goods, contact them 12 times, consult legal friends and small claims court / citizens advice bureau, because this company, seemingly purposedly, tries to wear you down to accept their mistakes.

If I really like something in a shop and it is a good price, I might take a chance with reputation to get it, but I just wouldn't take that chance again with Harveys.

Btw, I saw another woman in a branch totally exasperated with them, and I thought it was because she wasn't complaining "correctly".

So when my order went wrong and af
ter the first 2 non responses, I quickly wrote to the Chairman of Harvey's parent company and to Harvey's MD. Their customer services even told me to write to the MD. Still, this had absolutely no impact.

Sorry to have to welcome you with such a low rating!
You've got the basis for a good review....I just feel that you need to add some more info about the shop. If you started with an intro detailing what the shop sells/it's prices, and then go on to share your experience, you'll find that you gain a higher rating :o)
