I am not a fan of taking vitamin tablets, firstly because I seem to have a terrible inability to swallow tablets, and secondly, I just don't think I should be putting vitamins/minerals into my body via tablets rather than through eating sensibly.

Anyhow, having had a somewhat stiff knee recently when I have been out walking, a friend recommended taking cod liver oil, which supposedly over time helps with joint stiffness. When I explained my loathing of swallowing tablets, she in turn xplained that the cod liver oil capsules that she uses, sold by Healthspan, were particularly easy to swallow.

Thinking ahead, and with my father already having arthritis, I was willing to try them in a bid to reduce any further stiffness from developing.

So after taking the details from her I went online to check out the healthspan website at www.healthspan.co.uk. It advertises itself as the the Uk's leading online supplier of vitamins, minerals and health supplements, set up in 1996. The company is based in the Channel Island of Guernsey. All its products use approved pharmaceuticul ingredients, and there is even a 'no quibble' refund policy.

From the beginning I was very impressed with the layout of the site. On the main page, it is very easy to find health supplements to help with whatever the issue is eg. anti ageing products, eye health, bone health, heart health.

You can also look up products via the a-z list tab on the main home page to see if healthspan stock the product you are looking for. There are also some very interesting articles, written by leading health professionals which you able to freely read. In addition there is the option of subscribing to healthspan's free magazine.

One of the huge plus points of using Healthspan to purchase health supplements is that their products are tax free, thanks to their location in Guernsey. They are also offer free delivery within the Uk, which is another huge plus point, especially when you are living in Northern Ireland, and usually miss such delivery offers by not being part of the mainland.

Anyhow, based on the recommendation of my friend and my own positive impressions of the site, I purchased, using my credit card, some cod liver oil capsules. Confirmation emails can through immediately, and within a week, the capsules had arrived. Again, I was impressed with this, since frequently, delivery takes that bit longer reaching Northern Ireland. There is also the option of ordering over the phone and the free phone number can be found on the website.

I have also been very pleased with my purchase of my cod liver oil tablets, and felt for the quantity that I bought, it was very good value for money. They are also very easy to swallow and I have had no problems as yet!

All in all, I will continue to use health span for the purchase of these capsules, and any other should I feel that I need them as I age. They off excellent value for money, plenty of useful information and advice, as easy to use website, and no hassle online shopping, delivering free within a week. I have no hesitation in recommending this company, and I'm glad my friend did to me.
