Advantages: Good Choice
Disadvantages: Too loud and busy
HMV is probably one of my least favourtie shops, it is sooo loud all of the time and i don't think that it is helped by my other half always having to go in and spend ages looking for a cd that he donesn't even know about before we go it.
HMV sell a huge selection of DVD's and Music, they also have games and consoles and a smaller selection of books and clothing. They sell mostly at the items recommended prices and i tend to find that it is possible to get the items cheaper online. HMV are in most high streets and they are also available online. It is possible to go in and choose from a massive selection of stock and they have the recent album charts for the various things that they sell. I guess if i was more interested in what they sell i would be more positive about the shop. I am the kind of person who doesn't buy music unless i really like it and then i tend to buy this kind of thing online as i often get it at a better price.
If i get dragged in i tend to go to the book section which is ok, the prices however are not competitive with book shops and online shops.
I have used the shop on numerous occasions, i have for example at christmas had to pick something up from there and i make it my mission to get in and out as quickyl as i can - i normally leave with a headache.
I know that they have a good selection of what they sell but it always seems to be too full and you have to fight your way through people to get near anything- i like to have a more relaxed shopping experience!
Summary: like to have a more relaxed shopping experience

- 21/07/09 I was disappointed by your review I feel you just complained about the books they sell whenever it's a tiny part of the business. Also the store is always busy cause lots of people like shopping there |

- 20/03/09 I am sorry for low rate but this review doesn't tell the consumer much about HMV at all - apart from the books you mention, you don't actually say what they sell and why they might be an attractive place to visit on the high street. |
