Advantages: Well laid out with competitive prices and good sales
Disadvantages: Crafting can be expensive
I really enjoy shopping in my local Hobbycraft whenever I need some craft supplies. I like that it is a nice, big store that has most things available that I could need or want for my craft activities. This includes materials for scrapbooking, cardmaking, sewing, jewellery making and even dolls house miniatures and children's craft projects.
I enjoy the experience of walking around this shop and browsing through all of the various materials on sale. It is a great way to find inspiration for new projects amongst other things.
I like the logical way in which the shop is set out too. I like that cardmaking supplies are kept seperately from the sewing materials so I know where to look for what I need. Hobbycraft are very good at having the special offers in groups on display where they can be easily seen as well. If they have Christmas embellishments on display in the January sales for example, they will put them altogether at the end of an aisle or two with big, clear prices.
I have had some great bargains during the Hobbycraft sales come to think of it. Most recently they had a large wooden boxed display stand full of goody bags for only £5.79 each. Usually these retail for £15 each and their value is £30 if you were to buy the products included seperately!
There is something in Hobbycraft to suit most budgets I find and I like that about them as well. They have their own budget range for the cardmaking and scrapbooking supplies with materials on sale for around half the price of the better known brands like K&Co. Sometimes I want to spend good money on K&Co products, for a family album for example, and other times I Just want some supplies to make some low priced general greetings cards.
I find Hobbycraft good at catering for all of my crafting needs and budgets which is why I am such a loyal customer to them. I find that their bulk-buying power means that on a lot of materials, they are actually more competitive than many people realise. It is craft materials themselves that are expensive, not Hobbycraft.
Summary: I really like this shop.
