Advantages: You really find good products at cheap prices
Disadvantages: Can get crowded in there
Home Bargains is a great shop where you can find lots of bargains. They are truly justified when using "bargains" in their shop name.
Now the title of this thread says "Homes and Bargains". I don't know if it's a different shop altogether but I am on about Home Bargains.
It is great for toiletries, baby wipes (Pampers ones usually cheaper than anywhere else). In the store near us, they have a wide range of branded hair products at really affordable prices.
You can also get good quality olives, olive oil, mustard and so on.
Birthday cards are also very cheap although there isn't a big variety.
Best of all, especially so close to Christmas, a lot of the toys are cheap and of great quality.
In fact, I found 3 great toys for our boy yesterday. I spent 30 minutes making my mind up and came out of there with a big smile.
They cost me £25 and for that I got 2 wooden toys: a cut and play food set (which I saw later on in Mothercare for double the price!) and a garage set complete with cars, lift and more. I am really chuffed as they look really good quality and if our boy doesn't like them at least it won't have cost us the earth.
The third toy is a Tomy pop to the rescue toy, which looks like fun too.
I often get lovely toiletry bags from HB which I then fill with various toiletries as I know my female friends enjoy these as a present.
I can't recommend HB enough, the tills are always full, which to me is a good sign.
Summary: Great bargains, try it for toys for toddlers/children

- 08/11/08 I didn't know that. Thanks for the tip! |

- 07/11/08 They are the same as Quality Save, the name they trade under in some areas. |
|
- 06/11/08 They're not all over Britain. I know my sister-in-law hasn't got one in South Devon. |
