Advantages: Friendly staff and some who were very useful!
Disadvantages: Poor written instructions
We bought a flat pack kitchen from Homebase in October last year.
We were a complete novices when it comes to kitchen fitting, and the planning was a case of hit and miss. We went to the store an a few occasions to discuss the plans and found that only one of the planners was really any use (but he was brilliant!). The supposed manager of the kitchen and bathrooms was completely, embarrassingly awful who couldn't even manage the most basic of tasks on the software used and was shown up dramatically by the Saturday boy also on duty
The kitchen arrived on time on the correct day by friendly staff who were happy to deliver it to my first floor flat! Absolutely everything arrives individually packed, so its vital to have the parts list to be able to work out what goes where. This does become a matter of a guessing game though!
The kitchen is OK to put in......the are a lot of educated guesses involved and yes, we do have bits left over! It seems that homebase fog you off with extra end panels that you have nowhere to put....but I presumed they would get some extra money somewhere along the line!
I can't compare this kitchen to any others, but it is pretty much what I was expecting....certainly not perfect, but good enough to smarten up a small kitchen on a mediumish budget
Summary: I guess what you would expect from a mass produced flat pack..
