Homebase - failed delivery & poor customer care (Homebase)

Advantages: Attractive reasonably priced bedroom furniture Disadvantages: Poor customer care
Very similar experience to Mark H (Review of 25/8/09). Bedroom furniture ordered 19/7/09 & delivery date of 23/7/09 given (yipee!). Got rid of old furniture & prepared room. On 22/7/09 received call to say that part of order was now missing so delivery would not take place. When asked for another delivery date I was told they would "be in touch", all very vague. Meanwhile money had already gone from account and I was sick of trying to find clothes now stored in boxes. I checked the website and really started to worry when the range was shown as out of stock so I phoned & was told that I might get a delivery by 9/8/09. Wrote to them to complain 28/7/09. No responce so called them on 4/8/09. Had to press really hard to speak to a manager who told me that stock was not actually expected until 21/8/09. Finally got a letter on 12/8/09 which apologised but stated "our terms & conditions do state that delivery dates and times cannot be guaranteed." As 21/8/09 came and went with no contact from Homebase (& my clothes are now a crumpled mess) I phoned them again today (27/8/09) to be told that stock may be in by 7/9/09! Summary: After ordering money was taken quickly but I still await a delivery date. |
