Homebase is part of the Home Retail Group and is the UK's second largest DIY (Home Improvement) store offering a range of products including the ones detailed below:
Including ceramic, laminate and vinyl tiling. There is a vast choice. Laminate can be chosen from a range of different colours of laminate to using really oak flooring with a range of accessories within easy reach of the flooring section to help you put your floor down by yourself. These accessories include beading, glues and hacksaws. The vinyl section includes tiles which are the cheaper option or sheet vinyl which is the more professional looking of the two. Vinyl sheeting is a little bit more trickier to place down but will likely to stay down longer and less chance of splitting like vinyl tiles do when they become wet and the glue loosens.
This includes a range of paint and wall paper. Both including samples. Samples of paint can be purchased for around £3 which can give you an idea what the paint looks like on your walls before committing to a large paint tin which can retail between £10-£20 depending on whether it is Homebase's own brand or another. There are also samples of wall paper on display but these cannot be purchased. To help you decide on the look of your room Homebase have a number of brochures on display which show colour coodinations as well as pictures of rooms that you may want to copy.
Homebase sells a range of plants and flowers as well as compost, flower pots, plastic and ceramic and a range of gardening tools to make gardening a fun hobby. Seeds can also be bought.
You can even choose a range of bathroom and kitchens if you would like to either try and fit your own rooms or get one of Homebases experiences staff to guide you through getting your best kitchen/bathroom. This will involve using measurements you have given them and creating a virtual room and tailoring to your taste using Homebases vast range. Homebase will then fit for you.
As well as having a large number of stores/outlets Homebase offer an internet business where you can do the following:
View the catelogue before visiting a store of your choice
Order online for delivery to your chosen address
Reserve online for collection from your local Homebase store
Make enquiries/contact customer service
How to Guides
Your nectar card can be used to collect points when shopping. Like most loyalty cards you can collect points when you shop and exchange for vouchers throughout the year.
Homebase has not always been the store I would choose in need of DIY items but when I was planning on putting vinyl tiles on my kitchen floor Homebase was the only store that had the black and white tiles I wanted at a very low price.
I reserved online with no problem at all, was very easy and within a couple of minutes I had two text messages, one confirming the order and the second advising me the stock had been located.
I arrived to Homebase when it was very icy and had been snowing quite alot. Homebase had cleared the walk in entrance with grit which was great.
Went straight to the customer service till and got served straight away. I was very impressed with the gentleman that offered to take my items to my car because of the snow and ice which I refused but thought was very nice as most assistants do not care.
After refusing he then opened the door for me and made sure I was ok getting out.
A credit to Homebase
Summary: My shopping experience was made alot easier with thanks to Homebase
