Advantages: so many, easy to order, many choices, free service, free delivery
Disadvantages: you have to spend over £40 to qualify
After reading an opinion on here about iceland shopping I hopped over to the website to see if they deliver in my area, and yes they do!!, you enter your postcode and it comes up on the screen whether you can order online or or not. I tried this a month ago and it wasn't available in my area so things have improved. I am really please with my order, everything was so simple, because I am ill and have been for a while getting out shopping is a hard task for me, this service is a godsend, I was able to browse all the categories for food, and it was great being able to choose from what I wanted, the site layout is really easy to use, they have everything categorised, like toletries, bakery, frozen chicken, convenience foods, etc. The only drawback for some people may be that they only offer this service to goods ordered over £40, it's a free service, nothing extra is charged at all, my weekly shopping comes tom way more than £40 anyway so it wasn't a problem for me. I ordered my shopping online at 11pm Saterday night, much to the amusement of my husband, who told me not to spend too much!!. After you have ordered you need to place in a method of payment, they take visa/mastercard, solo/switch, etc, you just need to fill in the details of your card which is done over a secure server, then you proceed to delivery options. There were loads of delivery choices for me to choose from, being a bit desperate for my shopping I chose the earliest delivery available which was Tuesday morning 10am and 12 noon, there are lots of other times available and you can have it delivered right up to 8pm if you like. 10.30 am this morning my shopping came the driver backed into my drive and unloaded everything for me, even brought it into the kitchen for me, I was really pleased with everything, I didn't have to mess about paying as I had already paid online, when I unpacked everything, I just ticked them off with the r
eceipt they gave me and it was perfect, everything was right,in fact sometimes by the time I get home my freezer stuff is half melted, well all my freezer stuff I ordered was still frozen. It has really made shopping easier, the website is really easy to navigate and they have expanded the online ordering service to reach more areas, I like Iceland and they have some great meals for kids. They were the first supermarket too to announce that all their products were GM free, also Iceland do not put any artifical flavours or preservitives in their produces. Iceland also feed their cattle on meatfree foods, (so they should be), I wish that other supermarkets would follow them. If you are housebound or disabled ir unable to go out shopping, whether you have no time or whether you just can't get out, go to www.iceland.co.uk and have a look to see if they do online shopping in your area, if not email them to tell them. UPDATE..................... When you get your shopping you recieve a full receipt for all your goods. The only thing that didn't come was my bread, how important is that!!, the driver did know about this and said that they were waiting for delivery of bread when it comes they will come back with my bread, they did too 3 hours later all my bread was in the bag. Overall I was very pleased with their service and I will definately use them again.
