Advantages: a wide range of household stuff
Disadvantages: some things are a little expensive
Im not a big fan of Ikea until I went up there a few months ago as they had a sale on.Some of their stuff is lovely, all simple and most of it real wood finish.Alot of unfinished products like cupboard doors, little storage boxes and some of the bigger things you can stain whatever colour you like! There are also finished woodwork thats already painted or vanished. They do sofas, front room funiture, and acessories like light, lamps and pictures. Kitchens and cutlery, these are beautiful and such a varitey.Bedromm funiture for adults and children single and bunkbeds.Gardening and plants everything you would want its there, including a coffee shop, toilets and baby changing facilites. I really love the childrens toys. Most are made out of wood, which is nice no plastic stuff for a change. All the toyd are for imaginative play. They have dressing up stuff like animals and people like firemen, nurses etc.Drawing stuff like pens paper can sticky stuff, play tent and accessories, its a childs paradise. Its quite reasonably priced and Ive brought some toys for both Jess and Lucy.I think that sometimes its nice for children to have more than just plastic, although it maybe easier to clean, childen like playing with different texures.I would recommend the toys to anyone who wants to give their child something different to play with. UPDATE ------ Ive brought a rubber ice cube tray from Ikea 2 weeks ago and Im really pleased with it. I brought it because I needed another ice cube tray for freezing puried food for my daughter and its easier to use than normal plastic trays. It cost £4.99 for a big tray about 40 compartments and it has a firm plastic tray for it to sit in so its stable. When the food it frozen or icecubes just turn the compartments inside out, and out they pop..no banging them out.Its really easy to clean and easy to store too.So next time you go to Ikea pick this item up.

- 01/01/01 Sorry, I hate visiting IKEA (ICKYIA, I call it).. It just gets too crowded (in Midlothian, anyway), and I don't like the system. OK, many of the products are excellent (we have the ice cube tray, and two excellent glass jugs, but not all are. I went to look at a gateleg table for my daughters' flat, and it was rather flimsy and at £110 a little too expensive for what it was. They eventually bought a much better quality table at one of the charity shops for £10.
