Advantages: Good prices, modern, easy to set up

Disadvantages: The stores are a little annoying

IKEA has quickly become a very popular chain of stores for household goods. Their main advantage over others is price. Everything is very reasonably priced and they also have all the small convenient things you don't necessarily need but when you're in the store, they somehow get bought! For example, a shoe rack, display bowls/vases, mini coat hangers etc.

Most things I buy from IKEA are shelves/storage products. This is for two reasons; first, they are extremely easy to put together as the don't come assembled obviously. You usually don't need anything more than a screwdriver. The second reason is that they have a huge range of different variations. They have huge bookshelves and then small DVD units, in various colours and dimensions.

I don't really like going to IKEA though and usually make the parents go because it's a huge store and you end up walking around and queuing for a long time. Everything is pretty easy to find as it is done by product number, but it's still a bit of a pain. It could be a good idea if they improved the layout.

If you're a student and just moved into your flat then you can buy literally everything you need for a great price and it all looks very nice and modern.

Summary: Recommend this store
