Ikea - good furniture at cheap prices! (Ikea)

Not too long ago, I moved into my own place. The only drawback to this was the fact that I don't own any of my own furniture. So once I had figured out how to operate the oven and the central heating, it was off to Ikea in Leeds to buy everything I needed. The Ikea in Leeds is just off the M621, near Gildersome. The roundabout nearby is a bit of a nightmare, but apart from that it is a pretty easy place to find.

The inside is set up like a normal furniture shop, with loads of displays. Then there is a warehouse area by the checkout, so as you're looking through the displays you write down the shelf and aisle where you will need to collect the flatpack box from. About halfway round, there is a restuarant selling reasonably priced food - a plate of meatballs and chips costs about a fiver.

You can get an Ikea Family card, which is a store loyalty card. This entitles you to some special offers, and free tea and coffee in the restaurant on weekdays. I occasionally get vouchers sent to me at home as well.

The furniture is all good value - I managed to buy all the main furniture for my 2 bedded flat for about £650, the price of a sofa at some places! My best bargain was 3 x flarke bookcases for £12 each, and a basic 2 seat sofa for about £60. I got most of this delivered by Ikea at a cost of about £60 for the 30 odd miles from the store to my flat.

None of the furniture has broken so far, and the mattresses are particularly comfortable. I'm very impressed with Ikea and will be returning
