We have bought a few toys from ikea and they are always wonderful value for money. We bought a huge draught excluder stripey cat thing which our little boy loves (its called rivig by ikea). It states from 18 months on the label but it is a fluff toy and I think its more a warning if your child has a tendency to put things in their mouth all the time. We also bought a fantastic maze for £10 (the bead type) and seriously had our eye on a wooden trike for £12. They're not fancy and all singing all dancing toys but basic good toys that will appeal to children and your budget. ...

Get your kids cleaning & cooking. Ikea have lots of great cheap toys that will stimulate imaginative play. I like the cooker for £22, once the kids out grow it I can turn over the panels and it is just a wooden cabinet. I got the 5pc cook set for £6. I think it is so appealing as the pots are very relistic. They have 4 seperate dolls house furniture sets at £7 each. Very solid little pieces that imitate the full size furniture instore. I also got 2 of the cardboard dolls house room sets. They are quite sturdy boxes that come with a roof and my son plays with them well, but a boisterous child might be a bit tougher on them.
