Index Extra

Newest Review: ... is a total heart breaker for me as I only live a few streets away from an Index Extra inside of a Littlewoods store. This is where I used to get all of my jewellery cheap for prezzies and other things as gifts. Life just won't be the same without Index shops to go and quickly get items from. No more reserving online, or reserved for pick-up and what about the staff. I feel for those who are losing their jobs. No more bustling to the catalogue stands and checking to see if the item you want is in stock. No more little pens to put in my pocket absentmidedly, (they were always handy later on), no more waiting in line at the pick-up counte... more

I was totally shocked to see on the news that Index/Index Extra were closing all of their high street stores, selling some off to rival Argos. Index has been making huge losses for years it seems and they can 't afford to keep their shops open. Last year after various problems and waiting ages for the goods, I vowed never to use the Index Catalogue shop again. Been a sucker for the old line “Things change” my wife persuaded me to visit the shop at the Metro Centre in Gateshead. “It will be much bigger and more orgainised” she cried. With the kids packed off to school, off we went to do the Christmas shop. Our first port of call was Argos, where I was amazed by the size of it and the organisation. Over 20 people worked the tills ensuring there was no great queue. I could see people were having no problem picking up their goods as the lights flashed up the numbers of who ...  Read the complete review

It has a clothes size guide in the back of the catalogue, which is useful for measuring children as they grow so fast. This catalogue caters for any age really it has designer clothes in it, popular brands/makes and the larger sizes for women from 16-32 waists. I have had the Index Extra catalogue for a few years now (it's now called the Littlewoods Extra catalogue, by the way) and have had no problems with it at all. There is the usual selection of items you would expect to see in a catalogue, ie ladies / gents / kids clothing and shoes, sportswear, electrical goods, jewellery, toys, furniture, bedding, etc etc .... the list is endless !! The good thing about the deliveries is that you can opt for your order to be delivered to your local Index store if you are going to be at work or not available when the delivery is due, which is usually 48 hours (assuming the goods are in stock and isn't for example ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Dont overlook the Index Extra catalogue and shop (265 words)

You will find the index catalogue shop in the Littlewoods store. When you search the shop for clothes and other items this shop does seem to be overlooked but it is worth going there. It is very similar to Argos. It has a catalogue from which you can go to their shop and order and receive the goods there and then. You fill in the catalogue number of the goods you require and go to the till and pay. They will then tell you to go to line A B C or D to collect your goods. From time to time Littlewoods Index will do special offers. At the moment they have both summer at index leaflets and the holiday shop mini booklet. They have some ...  Read the complete review
