Jacsons is the late night lifesaver of the north. This group has bought out and refitted local shops all over Gods own County. They are on the whole well run, well stocked small outlets with a strong leaning towards booze and fags and sweeties. Which it has to be said are quite competitively priced. But if you desparately need a tin of pineapple chunks or a lump of cheese then prepare to nurse a wounded wallet. Jacksons are medium-sized corner shops in the North of England which open early and shut late. They have their own baked bread (pretty tasty), crumpets, muffins, scones, doughnuts and all the rest. The best thing about Jacksons is the confectionary selection. For late night munchies there's no better place. The shops I'm familiar with stock every type and flavour of crisp you could ever desire. They have loads of chocolate, pop and other goodies. It can be quite expensive but they regularly do special deals on things and there are some good bargains to be had this way.
