Advantages: Lovely clothes when you can find something you like, great quality

Disadvantages: Sometimes will be a long period with nothing good, small shop sizes

Jane Norman is a high street clothes shop, though it doesn't seem to have nearly as many stores around as its rivals, who I would guess are places like New Look and River Island.

Jane Norman is not cheap; however the majority of their clothes are far better quality than high street stores. You are also less likely to find generic clothes there (plain t shirts etc.), which is good because it seems like they put more thought into the design.

They also stock a good range of accessories, most notably their shoulder bags which a lot of school age kids use - like Kookai ones.

In the past I've bought a lovely long top with a beautiful flower design on, with an unusual neck and back on that I love. My favourite buy though is a gorgeous dress - difficult to describe - that was only £15 in the sale! Since then I've got a lot of use out of it, wearing it to friends' birthdays, my graduation ball and the work Christmas do. I absolutely love it! Despite wearing it so much in large groups, I've never seen anyone else wearing it unlike generic high street clothes. Jane Norman are also quite different in their designs which means you can't really guess where the clothes are from, unlike other shops which tend to have a particular style all the time.

The shops tend to be very much on the small side, and often have at least one security guard at the door which is a bit offputting. However, it's worth it for the clothes. Often the changing rooms are just cubicles in the store itself, which is something I have a particular hate of, but this again is probably due to store size.

My main complaint is that they tend to go in clothes cycles (or perhaps it's my imagination) as in a particular season I won't be able to find a thing I'd even consider wearing, or I'll find several things I love and not be able to afford them all. Such is life!
