Advantages: Good high street presence

Disadvantages: Not the cheapest, lots of very young staff

JD Sports are a major national chain stocking most of the sports world major brands and their own in house brand McKenzie which is popular with children and teens. They have a large presence on the high street, and their sales are usually good. Some stores even have a special "offers zone". This is usually last seasons trainers and sports wear at much reduced prices, and sometimes you can find trainers etc for as little as £10. They are usually organised by size in the bargain zone to make browsing simple.

The main store is usually well staffed, although I have heard of people having trouble with their returns policy. Personally I have never had a problem with any returns. The staff are reasonably knowledgeable although many are young, and my concern is that young people are often unable to confidently fit young children for shoes. However, overall they offer a good selection at pretty regular prices. Their sales are generally worth a visit.
