Advantages: Room for bartering on prices, knowledgeable staff

To sum up the following review: I like Jessops.

They are a specialist shop and that shows. If you want to buy a camera by making a traditional face to face, over counter purchase, rather than over the internet, Jessops would be the ones I would go to every time. Where as you might go to a shop like Dixons, Jessops are the ones with the real experts behind the counter.

I have bought a couple of things from Jessops over the years. The biggest being my digital SLR. I was very impressed with the service I received. The basic camera was £500, yet obviously I wanted a SD card and a carry case for it. With some pretty hard bargaining I was able to get the whole lot for the £500. That sort of bartering would never have been able to happen in any other shop where the staff would never be able to use their own discretion like that.
I went in another time looking for advice on a universal card reader. After speaking to staff they recommended their Jessops own version for about £10, rather than more expensive models. I have had it about 2 years now and it's never let me down.

I would use Jessops again in a flash, and recommend it to others. They obviously do know what they are talking about and you'll find that you are paying for their expertise as well as the item you want to buy.

Highly recommended high street shop.
