Advantages: Great customer service

Disadvantages: Can be pricey

Was in Jessops today with my dad as he is looking for a digital SLR. The first thing that immediately became apparent was the level of customer service in this particular shop. It was the branch on Sauchiehall St, Glasgow. Their customer service was fantastic! All to often you walk into a shop and are ignored by the sales staff and when you do ask a question they're none too helpful. This is not the case in Jessops. The sales staff were very warming and certainly know their stuff.

The shop itself has a good range of camera equipment on display. A lot of SLR equipment, covering bodies and lenses. There is also a wide range of compacts and video cameras in store, along with all the corresponding accessories.

As expected they also offer a full range of printing services, from digital prints to full scale poster or canvas printing. Jessops offer a darn good service and probably equally important, the chance to see the cameras in the "flesh" and get a feel for them. Ordering online certainly doesn't off you this.

The only downside is the price of Jessops, as a high street store, I think they struggle to compete with internet prices.
