Reviewing a branch in Sheffield:

Now I'm not one for sport shops as my look is usually Black and 'emo' in style but I went with my mum to JJB Sports at Crystal Peaks which is a big shopping centre is Sheffield to look for some new clothes for a recent rock gig weekend away.

This is not my sort of clothing at all as I am not a Chav but mum likes wearing casual vest tops and sweat jackets for travelling, etc, so I though I would have a look for my dad and see if there was anything I could get him for his birthday...

The shop at the Peaks is huge and downstairs but there is a lift at the top left next to the escalators for disabled access and trolleys of course :)

JJB Sports are one of the biggest High Street sports shops names with brands like Reebok, Nike, Adidas, and Olympus which are cheaper than the bigger brand names.

My mum bought a bright pink LA Gear outfit which came to £19 for two items which is really good value and I bought my dad three pairs of socks for £2 which were Patrick brand,. There were some Nike socks for £5 and they sold trainer sock too for both sexes.

The shop is massive but looks really empty, we thought they were having a closing own sale at first, lol!

There is a kids section, menswear, women's wear and trainers all down the left hand side of the store.

Jogging bottoms, combats, t-shirts, vest tops, sweat tops and hoodies are all sort from cheap to expensive brands like Adidas where a ladies sweat jacket was £30 but an Olympus one was around the thirteen pound mark.

Training sweatbands and designer caps are sold, golfing gear and rucksacks are lined up just before the tills.

There didn't seem to be many staff, but then again the shop was nearly empty of people. The staff we met were friendly and polite.

JJB Sports keep their changing rooms locked until a customer needs it which we found offensive - it's almost as though you are getting accused of shop lifting if you want to try something on!

Footballs are also sold and I noticed a man paying £17 for a set of golf balls - more sense than money if you ask me!

I wasn't keen on this store although my mum drags me in there a lot, she likes it usually but didn't like the new layout- it felt too empty to us, everything was just pushed into corner sections with a lot of floor space unused in the middle.

The shop was well lit and no music which makes a nice change too. The clothes are security tagged with the ink releasing tags so they should open up the changing room without you having to hunt for a member of staff for the key which is kept behind the till - Stupid!

There is a fourteen day money back policy and you need to keep you receipt. They didn't cater well for my dad's size as he is big as in XL and a lot of the men's ranges didn't seem to have much in that size.

Three stars from me...it was neat and tidy, and empty :(

Summary: No for me, there are better options out there...

Sports Direct is the place to be, it's less tidy and full of 'iffy' people but you can get the same stuff for so much cheaper.
