luckily we have a john lewis nearby so it is good to go and browse and to get lots of ideas.
there is so much to choose from - my favourite departments are the bedding, stationary(tho' surprisingly small),oriental carpets and cookware/kitchen - my husband and daughters love the computer section but I must admit that over the few years this store has been open we haven't bought much because of the price - I guess you pay for what you get hey?
The haberdashery/fabric department is worth a look - books and books of patterns and some beautiful fabrics and threads - I tend to have a really good look and then go to a market to buy almost the same.
The staff are all very pleasant (company shareholders I guess) and if they do not know the answer to your questions they will go out of their way to find out.
Sales are brilliant but like Harrods - full of posh folk pushing & shoving in their fur coats - everything sells out so quickly
A good experience - I guess I would buy more than the odd christmas bauble if I had the money - but there again I don't like to overpay for goods - not mean - just broke!
