Advantages: Customer service

Disadvantages: Delivery is a bit poor

I have brought quite a few items from John Lewis and on the whole they have been fine. I always look at John Lewis or tell people to go to there if they are after a new TV, the reason being is that they offer a 5 year guarantee as standard, this is great as I can imagine today's LCD TV's can be expensive to repair, they even offer you a loan set while yours is being fixed. I did however have a bad experience recently when I ordered a bed and mattress, for some strange reason only the bed turned up and no mattress, I had taken a day of especially to wait in for the delivery and was not pleased to only get half of my order. To their credit though they did mange to sort out a Van to get me the mattress later on that evening so they kind of redeemed themselves. It would also be helpful if they communicated a bit better when deliving items, on a few occasions I have asked to be called when they were near but this never happened.

Overall John Lewis are very good, they just need to improve on the delivery side of things.

Summary: John Lewis offer excellent customer service which is rare in most department stores
